Foundations of Christian-Jewish Dialogue
This course deals with issues that have emerged in the post-Holocaust Christian-Jewish dialogue. After centuries of estrangement and often bitter hostilities, Christians and Jews are now reaching out to each other in search of reconciliation and mutually enriching relationships. The history of Christian theological anti-Judaism, the fallacies of supersessionism (or replacement theology), and Jewish concerns about such matters as various forms of Christian mission, are among the main topics explored.
